Firesong

It’s a windstorm
And she’s standing there,
Eyes closed with her blood drenched hair
Flying like a burning flag.

It’s the days before
And he’s killing her
With his long claws and his midnight fur
Like a wolf or a bear

On her deathbed
and she’s laughing
Like a child with a train ticket, laughing
She breathes last her first breath

The world is burning
And she is the fire
And her hair, her hair is everywhere
Burning you to nothing
